MoU signed between CU and IIIT
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the administration of University of Chittagong (CU) and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), Virginia, USA, and its regional Branches, Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT) authorities for mutual cooperation in academic fields at the office of the Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University (CU). The MoU is designed to strengthen, promote, and develop academic research, publication, and training cooperation based on equality and mutual benefit.
The MoU was signed by Professor Dr. Muhammad Saiful Islam, Registrar of the CU and Dr. M Abdul Aziz, Director General of BIIT and Country Representative of IIIT, Bangladesh.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on Wednesday, 18 December 2024. Professor Dr. Muhammad Shamim Uddin Khan, Vice Chancellor of CU, deans of various faculties, teachers, and officials of CU & staffs of BIIT were present at the ceremony.
Dr. Abdul Aziz emphasized the importance of this partnership and said, This MoU with two institutions is to explore the potential for joint research collaboration between the two institutions. It’s aimed at enhance, enrich, and broaden the academic and educational works and projects carried out by both organizations. This MoU signifies our commitment to providing quality education while fulfilling our social responsibility to extend research knowledge to the wider community, which play a vital role in the development of educational sector in Bangladesh.
