Seminar on Education Reform Ideas: What Kind of Education System Do We Want?

The Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT) organized a seminar on “Education Reform Ideas in Post-Mass-Uprising Bangladesh 2.0: What Kind of Education System Do We Want?” Dr. M. Abdul Aziz, prominent educationist and Director General of BIIT, was the keynote speaker of the seminar, held on September 14, 2024, at the RC Majumdar Auditorium of Dhaka University.

Professor Dr. Nakib Mohammad Nasrullah, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Dhaka (DU), presided over the seminar. Professor Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, former Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) and Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), OIC; Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University, Dhaka, and former VC of Daffodil International University (DIU); Sheikh Musa Al Hafiz, founding director of Mahadul Fikri Wad Dirasatil Islamia; and Dr. Md. Shahidul Haque, Associate Professor in the Department of Communication and Journalism at the University of Chittagong, also spoke at the seminar.

Azizoon Nahar Munmun, Assistant Professor in the Department of Law and Human Rights at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP), moderated the program. Professor Dr. Mohammad Yusuf and Professor Dr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam, from the Department of Islamic Studies at Dhaka University (DU); Professor Dr. Shamsuddin Ahmed from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT); Professor Md. Zillur Rahman and Professor Dr. Mohammad Mujahidul Islam from Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU); Col. (Retd.) Ashraf Al-Din, writer and researcher; Lt. Col. Zobair (Retd.); Professor Dr. Mahmud Alam, Dean of the Business Faculty at the University of Comilla (UNIC); Professor Dr. Hanif Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at UNIC; Professor Abdul Awal Khan from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB); Dr. Shamim Ahmed Dewan, Associate Professor in the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering at DU; Dr. Md. Hedayet Ullah, Assistant Professor at Government Madrasa-e-Alia, Dhaka; Dr. A.E.M. Neshar Uddin; Dr. Syed Shahid Ahmad, Senior Assistant Director of BIIT; and Dr. KM Zakir Hossain Salim, Academic Coordinator of BIIF, also attended.
